1940's Gas Station Island Light Red Enamel Shade
1940's Gas Station Island Light Red Enamel Shade
The way this lamp was designed plus the color was the hook for me to get it. It has that classic look but the color is amazing with the right kind of wear on the body (painted) and the shade is enameled red with interior white dating from the 1940’s. It is in really nice shape given the age and the shade is in excellent shape given a few chips and some where the screws mount to the base via screws on the bracket. There is no makers mark on the bracket or the body. It might have had the bottom base adapted at some point but most likely this was mounted on top of a pump. The piece has been newly rewired and accepts a standard bulb. Turns on and off easily with a turn key type socket mounted on the body of the lamp. Measures: 55” H with a shade diameter of 20”
