1940's Lodge Bulb Sign
1940's Lodge Bulb Sign
The lodge sign dates from C.1940’s and is made of plywood and hand painted elements. There are a series of vintage bulbs and some newer to fill the old missing ones. The red and white ones have a tempera finish. On the back of the panel there are a set of 5 control stitches that light and control different banks of lights. Quite old ceramic switches and two have been replaced to modern switches due to broken old ones. Inside the box are all original cloth covered wires that are in pretty good shape—*note with any vintage lighting items caution should always be taken. I also noted a persons signature inside the box among other writing in pencil. Hand painted color on the box front is a pale gray powder blue tone and red in the triangle section. Great wear and color along with pencil markings make this a great American folk art centerpiece that are becoming harder to find these days. Piece measures: 30” x 29.5” x 2.5” D
