C. 1942 Articulating Magnifier Lamp 701
The ‘701’ is an excellent industrial articulating lamp. Many years ago I had a base with the arm that came out of a Detroit Chrysler Assembly plant. I always wondered what the top fixture was and here it is. The lamp is made of aluminum components except for the steel base. The arm articulates to many positions (set screws control the tension) and if you wanted to you could wall mount this lamp. One of the lamps has the original ballast and bulb in working condition—the other I have rewired to use a standard incandescent bulb. The piece is handy but these are great accent lamps to illuminate a sculpture, book, insect collection etc. Great lines that you can manipulate to your liking—also has that crinkle paint finish that is typical of the 1940’s. Measures: Base 9.5” x 6” and has a length fully extended (vertical) of 25” (base to end of lamp) Magnifier diameter 5” Priced per lamp — two in stock.
