1930's Dr.Fleets Aluminum Spinal Demonstrator
1930's Dr.Fleets Aluminum Spinal Demonstrator
Devised by Dr. Thurman G Fleet the aluminum anatomical spine was used to demonstrate his ‘Zone Technique’. Dr. Fleet was a chiropractor from San Antonio Texas and showed students how the body was an electrical machine and every movement connected to other parts. Fleets school is still in operation in Texas and his son served as director from some years after his death.
This model usually is mounted on a black board and has a partial head on the top. One hip is also missing from this piece. I have added aluminum mounting brackets and have restored the rubber ‘discs’ that you see in natural rubber as the original ones have dry rotted.
These rubber components act as shock absorbers and allow the spine to twist and move in a natural way. A very realistic feel for adjusting the spine. A very stunning piece of chiropractic study.
Measures 32” L with a projection of 8.5” at its highest point
looks great wall mounted or sitting on a surface
