This early electroshock unit came from a state hospital and is serial # 279 . The unit dates from the late 40’s and comes in a small case for easy transport and treatment of the patient. I have featured and sold quite the spectrum of these types of machines but this one in particular has an ominous presence. The older models with the crude and direct voltage are a bit terrifying. This early model is almost prototype in design compared to the later ones look more polished. This piece turns on and fires up when treatment is engaged but has not been used for many years. A great medical collectible to add to your objects archive but under no circumstances test this on anyone—this is to be used as a collectible / research object. This unit does not come with the original electrodes and the ones pictured are for demonstration only. Head shown is not included but available to compliment unit —sold separetly. Measures: 11 3/4” x 6” x 5” Normal age old wear on case—handle is off from repeated wear over the years but included inside the case.
