American Prison Stainless Steel Toilet
American Prison Stainless Steel Toilet
People see a copper chair by Donald Judd and they think that it is very American. The minimal design and function is art. The prison toilet holds as much weight at defining what America is. I just spent hours in a meditative state cleaning this toilet. It becomes many things, a Judd, a Kapoor and a symbol of the American disaster. Minimal function, restrictive, death proof. I am putting one in my studio bathroom, but I may just display it as art. I saw a beautiful loft once with a functioning toilet in it out in the open. This would of made a better choice. This piece is in great condition and I don’t think it was used. The drainage pipes are clean and still has the cap on the water line. I picked the used one for my space—it was really hard to come to a decision. The last picture shows the one I picked. I really love the toilet paper divot on the one available.
