It’s amazing to think and sometimes alien to understand the scale and the ingenuity from the microscopic circuits to wires stretching across the sea. We are at that turning point where tech will leave the physical paths, but there is something magical to me about these samples.

This set of 10 wire cut away views show you the inner workings and wrapping of various wires—most for telecom use. They are by LS Cable and the core samples are prepared with surgical precision to showcase every working layer, insulator, wire and various core wrappings involved. There is a cellular aspect to it but also something inspirational and beautiful. Each piece is rated for different power and noted on the sample base. The displays can be unscrewed to study the wire closely and are very well made. Each measure 8” H with diameters ranging from 4”, 3” and 2” —sold as a collection of 10.
