The large deep blue starfield cyanotype is made using the cyanotype photographic method. Cyanotype is an early photographic method where the paper is hand coated and dried and is then exposed to UV light converting the iron into a deep permanent cyan color. This early method was used as a botanical recording method in the field because it was easy to expose and make documents of plants.

The starfield is printed from a large film negative on 100% cotton French watercolor paper. This particular print comes framed in a deep shadow box dark charcoal wood frame, float framed to show the natural deckle edge of the paper. It can be hung either horizontally or vertically . Piece would make a nice ‘window’ above a bed or any space that you would like a meditative calm space.
