This work was recently exhibited at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum ‘In Blue’ Exhibition and is now available for purchase.

The Saturn is made with a large film negative on a massive custom sheet of Arches French watercolor paper (the best available 100% cotton paper) . The sheet is then carefully coated to ensure an even consistent color, dried and exposed under UV light causing the reaction to change the oxide solution into a deep blue. The cyanotype process is an old photographic process that predates silver based photography and was used with great effect on the field to document plant specimens . There is something alluring and calming with this color blue that it will add a beautiful calming touch to your environment. Measures approximately : 50” x 60” framed in a matte black wood frame
