The skull decollage is comprised of several sheets printed with heavy acrylic colors and aligned and layered on top of each other. The paper is then hand torn in subsequent layers revealing the colors underneath creating a composite image of the skull and are finally glued as a single piece. The technique is something like an old billboard that has been pasted over yet the tears create color combinations and effects that are spontaneous and unique to each piece—no two are alike. I made a series years ago and went on to the larger scale for some years. This smaller scale is very desirable due to the pairing and combinations you can play with on a multiple scale.
